Intermission Count Down
UNRATED • 11m • 2017 • Special
SHOW STARTS IN TEN MINUTES Both movie theaters and drive-ins often ran "Count Downs" between features that told how much time you had left to visit the concession stand. Ads included EVERYTHING you could buy to eat -- from Buttercup Popcorn to Eskimo Pies -- plus ads for local businesses and minute by minute reminders of when the show would start. They did not include coming attraction trailers for upcoming movies so they did not need to be re-edited weekly. A variation of the practice continues today running about ... ten hours ... before the single feature finally plays. Only thing new is "Turn off your cell phones." Return with us now to a gentler yesterday, and watch a classic feature when you reach: "And Now On With the Show."
